Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Dapo Abiodun has charged graduates of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa to be job creators instead of running after quick wealth that does not last.<\/p>\n

Abiodun said this at the 5th convocation ceremony of the polytechnic held at its Dapo Abiodun Twin Lecture Complex.<\/p>\n

Represented by his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedeke, Abiodun tasked the graduands to showcase the skills and knowledge inculcated in them as they have been shaped, nurtured, trained and equipped for challenges and opportunities of life.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou should not be job seekers, but job creators. Therefore you need to be creative and innovative,\u201d the governor stated while admonishing that they should allow their families and society benefit from their study and experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI strongly advise that you avoid the unfortunate ways of some people who are after quick wealth which only glitters but does not last. But, strive for excellence through hard and honest work,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

No fewer than 2,726 OND and HND students of the 2021\/2022 academic session graduated from the polytechnic on its 5th convocation.<\/p>\n

The overall best graduating student, Adenuga Aminat, from the Department of Chemistry recorded a CGPA of 3.94 out of 4.0.<\/p>\n

In her address, the Rector of the Institute, Dr. Olufunke Akinkurolere, also charged the graduates not to contribute to what she called the country\u2019s woes, urging them to be patriotic in defending the country with all the skills acquired at school.<\/p>\n

\u201cI advise that you go and prosper as you graduate from school today. Make positive changes and rebuild the falling walls of our Jerusalem which is Nigeria. Do not contribute to the country\u2019s woes, rather, be patriotic and defend the country with all the skills you have acquired here,\u201d she pleaded.<\/p>\n
