Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has revealed that 21,000 police personnel would be deployed to the Osun State for the gubernatorial election slated for this weekend.<\/p>\n

He stated that the Police personnel would take charge of security and protect electoral materials.<\/p>\n

The IGP disclosed this during the INEC stakeholder\u2019s meeting held in Osogbo.<\/p>\n

The deployment of the police he maintained will also serve as a strong warning that the government was ready to make democracy work and assured the residents of the state that government will provide a conducive electoral environment for a peaceful election.<\/p>\n

He warned trouble makers that irrespective of their status they would be dealt with in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody will be allowed to derail the electoral process and no stone will be left unturned in prosecuting those who would be found wanting,\u201d Baba warned.<\/p>\n
