Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has lauded Nigeria\u2019s Super Falcons despite their 5-4 penalty defeat to Morocco in the semi-final of the 2022 Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, on Monday night.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST reports that Nigeria had two red cards against Morocco as the match ended in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes following goals from Sanaa Mssoudy and Yasmin Mrabet (OG).<\/p>\n

Nigeria will now face Zambia in a third place match on Friday, while both South Africa and Morocco will clash in the final on Saturday for a chance to win a maiden WAFCON title.<\/p>\n

Reacting, Saraki, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, said the Super Falcons showed resilience and tenacity during the tie.<\/p>\n

He tweeted, \u201cI applaud our @NGSuper_Falcons for their resilience and tenacity throughout the WAFCON. Yesterday\u2019s semifinal loss after the penalty shootout must undoubtedly be painful, however, our Super Falcons should know that the entire nation is proud of their efforts!<\/p>\n

Well done ladies!\u201d<\/p>\n

Also reacting, Nigerian football star, Desire Oparanozie, tweeted: \u201cTrue definition of the naija spirit. You gave and left everything out there on the pitch, against all odds. I couldn\u2019t be more proud of this team #TheSuperFalcons.\u201d<\/p>\n

On her part, Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade wrote on Twitter: \u201cWords ain\u2019t enough to describe the passion, resilience, tenacity of this @NGSuper_Falcons team, we remain the best. Super proud of you all.\u201d<\/p>\n
