Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>One of the five freed Abuja-Kaduna train passengers, Sidi Aminu Sharif, on Tuesday evening, said a bullet fired into his body while in captivity, is yet to be removed.<\/p>\n

The train attack victims are being released in batches, with the latest five freed on Tuesday, August 2,2022.<\/p>\n

While speaking with journalists at the office of Mamu, Publisher, Desert Herald, one of the released victims, Sidi Aminu Sharif said the bullet fired into his body by one of the terrorists has not been removed<\/p>\n

The victim was reportedly shot while in captivity, raising fears about what may have become of his health condition and the safety of others.<\/p>\n

He said the efforts made to remove the bullets were unsuccessful, adding that now that he is freed, he would get proper medical attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am one of the passengers of the train that was attacked in Kaduna on its way from Abuja. I could remember how it happened when the train was conveying us to Kaduna. As we were sitting on the train, I could remember I was praying when we heard a loud sound\u2026 I was shot on my stomach in captivity. A doctor tried to remove it, but he could not. He used my clothes to manage the blood which flowed to my knees.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe used gloves and searched my stomach to pull out the bullet but couldn\u2019t find it. He later used scissors but still couldn\u2019t find any bullet in my stomach. Up till now, we didn\u2019t see the bullet. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s still in my stomach, I hope now that we are free, I can go to the hospital for x-ray if the bullet can be found,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As of the time of filing this report, it is unclear if ransom was paid before the victims were freed, as they kept mute over the issue.<\/p>\n
