Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said he will still perform even if he leaves the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).<\/p>\n

According to him, leadership is an individual thing and not tied to any political party.<\/p>\n

Wike noted that if given the chance, he would successfully tackle banditry in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The governor stated this while speaking on Tuesday at the inauguration of the dualised Ogbunuabali-Eastern bypass road in Rivers.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeadership is not about party, leadership is about the individual. Party is only a vehicle to actualise your ambition, to be able to tell your people \u2018I have this capacity; I have this quality to render services to you\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you take me away today from PDP to another party, I will still perform. So, it is not because I\u2019m in PDP that I\u2019m performing. It is because I have that passion for my people. It is because I have the commitment to serve my people,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST had reported that Governor Wike has vowed that the people of his State will not vote for politicians who have no regard for them.<\/p>\n

According to him, the people of Rivers State must benefit from any candidate that will have their votes.<\/p>\n
