Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has described a statement emanating from the Oyo State Government, in which it denied plans to return schools to the missionaries as mere political masturbation.<\/p>\n

MURIC disclosed this in a statement by its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Friday.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST recalls that the Oyo State Government had a few days ago disclosed that there was no plan to return some schools to missionaries or individuals.<\/p>\n

According to the State\u2019s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Abdulrahman Abduraheem, Governor Seyi Makinde only spoke about ownership of schools at the Loyola College during the commissioning of a hall named after the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.<\/p>\n

The denial came after MURIC kicked against the move and gave Makinde a quit notice.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the development, MURIC said it does not trust Makinde, adding that his sudden u-turn is politically motivated.<\/p>\n

The statement read in part, \u201cWe do not believe Makinde. His sudden u-turn is politically motivated. That statement, at best, can be described as political masturbation. Makinde\u2019s body language is saying something different.<\/p>\n

\u201cMuslims of Oyo State are too clever to allow Makinde\u2019s damage-control tactics to deceive them. We will not let down our guards. We are waiting for the governor in whatever form he comes. We don\u2019t trust him. Caesar has crossed the Rubicon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIslamic liberation theology has exposed the anatomy of slavery. The slave master came from Europe and America at the initial stage with the Bible in his hands. He told Africans to close their eyes. When they opened it, they found only the Bible. Their land was gone.<\/p>\n

\u201cSlavery is in stages. The invasion of Africa by the slave traders was the first stage. The white men came and took our parents away in chains. Our precious artefacts were taken away to Britain, France and Germany.<\/p>\n

\u201cMakinde wants to abdicate his responsibility towards the Oyo electorate. That is why he is planning to return schools. We will not allow that. The return of schools was not part of his manifesto in 2019. Otherwise, we would not have voted for him. The \u2018Eleyi\u2019 of Agodi should allow the sleeping \u2018lion\u2019 to lie.\u201d<\/p>\n
