Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Factional Secretary-General of the apex Igbo socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro has disagreed with the spokesman of the Igbo body, Chief Alex Ogbonna on the case involving Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice.<\/p>\n

Ogbonna had urged the Federal Government to intervene in Ekweremadu\u2019s case.<\/p>\n

The Ekweremadus are facing trial in the United Kingdom, UK, for allegedly importing a Nigerian for organ harvesting.<\/p>\n

To this end, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, had said the Federal Government would not interfere in his trial.<\/p>\n

Malami had said it\u2019s not in the tradition of the Nigerian Government to interfere in such trials, a comment faulted by the Ohanaeze spokesman.<\/p>\n

In a counter statement on Wednesday, Isiguzoro urged the Federal Government not to interfere.<\/p>\n

Isiguzoro said people should stop making such a demand without the knowledge of the Igbo General Assembly, Imeobi Ohanaeze Ndigbo.<\/p>\n

A statement by Isiguzoro said: \u201cthe position of Ohanaeze is on the same page with the Attorney General\u2019s Office and Minister of Justice, which is to remain neutral and not to interfere but only pray for Senator representing the Enugu West to get a fair judgment in the ongoing investigation and trial in the UK\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese clarifications became imminent based on the fact that fifth columnists and impostors who are personal aides and Associates of Senator Ekweremadu have been drafted to use the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo fraudulently to cajole the Federal Government into a shady expedition filled with trickery.\u201d<\/p>\n
