Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Kola Ologbondiyan, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, former National Publicity Secretary, has dismissed concerns that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State may form an alliance detrimental to the party\u2019s chances during next year\u2019s presidential election.<\/p>\n

Ologbondiyan said this while speaking on Wike\u2019s recent meetings with opposition political figures.<\/p>\n

He also said the governor was at liberty to associate with politicians from other camps as such was within his rights.<\/p>\n

Ologbondiyan spoke during an interview on Arise TV\u2019s \u2018The Morning Show\u2019 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI know it and I believe that Governor Nyesom Wike is savvier politically to go and put the life of his own political machinery into an arrangement that will stop its candidates from winning elections. I know he will not do a thing like that and I am very confident about that.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is at liberty to associate with them (opposition politicians). It is until Governor Wike picks APC or other political parties\u2019 membership cards then we can conclude he has left the party. Until then, he remains a member of PDP.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us in the party, what is important is how we will win the 2023 election. What is important to us as a party is how we will relieve Nigerians from the burden of APC and President Muhammdu Buhari.\u201d<\/p>\n
