Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi on Wednesday ordered the immediate sack of contractors handling environmental cleanliness to avert further dirtiness of the state capital, Abakaliki.<\/p>\n

the state capital, Abakaliki have been turned into a dirty environment, which could result in an outbreak of disease.<\/p>\n

The governor who announced the sack of the contractors made this known in a statement signed and issued to journalists through the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Richard Nnabu.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing general laxities by contractors handling waste evacuation and general environmental cleanliness within Abakaliki Capital City, the Governor of Ebonyi State has therefore directed that all contractors involved in the exercise should be sacked with effect from 31st August 2022.<\/p>\n

\u2018Consequently, the Ministry of Environment, therefore, requests members of the public interested in handling environmental sanitation and waste evacuation within Abakaliki Capital City to apply in writing to the office of the Commissioner within one week.<\/p>\n

He stressed that \u201cThose to be engaged for the exercise should be able to demonstrate their competence and commitment to duties within 7 days otherwise be disengaged\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
