Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The United States (U.S.) on Wednesday said the world would never recognise Russia\u2019s attempts to change Ukraine\u2019s borders by force.<\/p>\n

U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield said this at a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s be clear, the international community will never recognise Russia\u2019s attempts to change Ukraine\u2019s borders by force.<\/p>\n

\u201cSix months of horrific atrocities, including rape, murder, and torture in towns like Bucha and Irpin and others,\u201d she said on Wednesday as countries marked the sixth month of Moscow\u2019s invasion.<\/p>\n

\u201cSix months of families being separated, and millions displaced,\u201d Thomas-Greenfield added.<\/p>\n

\u201cSix months of killings, thousands dead.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecifically, Russia is laying the groundwork to attempt to annex the regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhya and all of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe evidence of Russian forces interrogating, detaining, and forcibly deporting hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, including children, continues to mount.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir reasons are clear: they want to destroy Ukraine \u2013 its culture, its people, its very existence,\u201d she told the meeting.<\/p>\n
