{"id":71488,"date":"2022-09-02T16:48:06","date_gmt":"2022-09-02T15:48:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/ishaku-tasks-committee-to-eliminate-pilfering-of-hiv-drugs-in-taraba"},"modified":"2022-09-02T18:15:08","modified_gmt":"2022-09-02T17:15:08","slug":"ishaku-tasks-committee-to-eliminate-pilfering-of-hiv-drugs-in-taraba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/ishaku-tasks-committee-to-eliminate-pilfering-of-hiv-drugs-in-taraba","title":{"rendered":"Ishaku tasks committee to eliminate pilfering of HIV drugs in Taraba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has urged members of the state ART Programme Management Team (TAPMT) to work round the clock to halt the missing and pilfering of drugs designed solely for persons living with HIV in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The directive came from the governor through the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Innocent Vakkai while inaugurating a twenty-three-man committee in Jalingo, the state capital.<\/p>\n<p>The committee is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring the reduction of the prevalence of HIV\/AIDS from 2.9 to 0.1 percent in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Ishaku who gave the directives through Vakkai, the committee chairman, said apart from ending the pilfering of HIV drugs, the committee will take the well-being of persons living with HIV seriously.<\/p>\n<p>The committee has the responsibility of procuring, distributing and monitoring the movements of the drugs and efficiently distributing the commodity to health facilities spread across the state.<\/p>\n<p>He directed that drugs always be provided for both public and private facilities spread across the sixteen local government councils as well as the Special Development Areas.<\/p>\n<p>While mandating them to always meet quarterly to get updates on achievements and challenges facing the project, he said the state government will always extend the desired olive branch to them to succeed in their assigned responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
