Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Bashir Sheriff Machina said he has neither withdrawn nor resigned from the Yobe North Senatorial race.<\/p>\n

Machina in a statement issued on Sunday made this known while reacting to news making the rounds that he has laid to rest his senatorial ambition.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was brought to my notice that some unscrupulous elements have forged my withdrawal letter out of mischief and blackmail.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to state unequivocally that the purported letter was forged. I did not at any time withdraw nor resign from my party.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was shocked when I discovered that some persons concocted plans to mislead the public, particularly my supporters into believing that I have withdrawn\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

He observed that the discrepancies between the two dates especially between the date of writing the purported letter and the date it was received exposed the author\u2019s inadequacies and lack of sufficient administrative knowledge.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough, we suspect that this letter may be another fake news and the handiwork of enemies of peace, yet the APC\u2019s National secretariat must speak up on it since it is carrying the official stamp of the secretariat\u201d, he demanded.<\/p>\n

Bashir Sheriff Machina pledged to pursue his senatorial ambition on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, noting that his team of lawyers have been instructed to review the fake letter and take necessary legal actions against the culprit(s).<\/p>\n
