He is survived by his spouse and two children.<\/p>\n<p>Gaya, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), lost his wife, Halima, in May 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has commiserated with the federal lawmaker and the family.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, said the news of Sadiq\u2019s demise was received with shock.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMay Allah Subhanahu Wata\u2019ala forgive all his shortcomings and reward his good deeds,\u201d the spokesman noted.<\/p>\n<p>Ganduje already visited Gaya, also of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at his residence in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>70-year-old Gaya has served in the Senate since 2007, representing Kano South Senatorial District.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
