Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has revealed that it had cleared the gridlock on the Gbongan-Ibadan expressway.<\/p>\n

A traffic jam occurred early on Friday as a result of an ongoing protest by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) against the continued Academic Staff Union of Universities and Federal Government faceoff.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Osogbo on Friday, the Sector Commander, Paul Okpe said his officers and unit commanders immediately swung into action when the information got to him about the protest which had resulted in gridlock, preventing easy movement of vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe blockade had been removed and motorists ply the routes without any inconvenience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Command\u2019s unit commanders and other sister security agencies were present at the scene of the protest to ensure there is no more gridlock and breakdown of law and order.\u201d<\/p>\n

Okpe, however, said the command would monitor the situation to ensure there was no more blockage across Osun for easy vehicular movements.<\/p>\n

Recall that on September 13, 2022, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led students within the South-West region to protest the long-running Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike which began on February 14, 2022.<\/p>\n
