Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A former Legal Adviser of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Muiz Banire, has disclosed that Nigeria needs only a benevolent dictator to move it forward.<\/p>\n

Banire, a former commissioner in Lagos state made this disclosure while speaking during an annual symposium of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) B-Zone, which was held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Prominent Nigerians who present at the event included the Executive Secretary, Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) Professor Muslih Tayo Yahyah, Barrister Lateef Fagbemi, Dr. Amao Alaga, MSSSN National Amir, Malam Uthman Abubakr and MSSN B Zone Amir, Barrister Qaasim Odedeji.<\/p>\n

Others are Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun state, Professor Abdulganiy Raji, former MSSN National Amir, Dr. Taofiq Yekeen.<\/p>\n

Banire, while speaking on the topic \u201cEthno-Religious agitation and imperative inclusiveness\u201d, insisted that Nigeria needs a benevolent dictator who will help to restructure the country in 2023.<\/p>\n

He said that such a person should be a dictator who will be benevolent to the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cNigeria needs a benevolent dictator. This is the dictator that will help us to restructure this country. How do we get him, I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe allocation of resources is to be addressed. All these are against some regions. The number of Local governments in your states determine the resources you get.<\/p>\n

Banire, while speaking on the way out of the present challenges facing the country, suggested that there must be inclusiveness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere must be inclusiveness. Under the civilian administration, there will still be injustice; the same thing happened under the Jonathan administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of our brothers will say it can be done by divine intervention and Allah has warned us that He will not change the condition of people unless they change their ways. I used to be a nationalist, from what I said, it has even happened to me. I am a victim.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe now have to go back to the regional government. Let each region develop on its own phase so as to address the agitations. So my conclusion is that we are at a crossroads. let us outsource the management of Nigeria to an external body\u201d<\/p>\n
