Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has named Manchester City playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne, as the best player in the world currently.<\/p>\n

Merson said that De Bruyne is an all-round package, adding that the Belgium international is so intelligent.<\/p>\n

De Bruyne shone for Belgium in their 2-1 Nations League victory over Wales on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old scored and also gave an assist during the encounter against Wales at the King Baudouin Stadium.<\/p>\n

Writing in his column for Sportskeeda, Merson said: \u201cAt the moment, I believe Kevin De Bruyne is the best player in world football, so he undoubtedly tops my list. His vision is on a different level and he is so, so intelligent.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can look at the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar \u2014 who have all been fantastic for PSG this season \u2014 but De Bruyne is the all-round package and was an easy pick at number one.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it does not make much sense to compare players who don\u2019t play in the same position, but De Bruyne\u2019s consistency over the years for this Manchester City side has been staggering, to say the least.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe plays with the insurance policy of Rodri behind him, who in my opinion is the best defensive midfielder in world football at the moment. They complement each other so well, and it allows De Bruyne to run the show.\u201d<\/p>\n
