Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Operatives of the Ogun State-owned security agency, the So-Safe Corps, have arrested 12 illegal miners in Ogun East.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST learnt that the 12 suspects were nabbed between September 28 and 30, \u201cwhile stealing the State government resources.\u201d<\/p>\n

So-Safe Corps spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, told our correspondent that the illegal miners were held at Abeku Adekanmbi Village, in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun.<\/p>\n

Yusuf disclosed that the 12 were apprehended \u201cwhile stealing mineral resources like coal and gold from under the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, the So-Safe Commander, Soji Ganzallo, had without further delay, instructed that reports of the suspects\u2019 preliminary investigation be forwarded to the Corps State headquarters in Abeokuta.<\/p>\n

Ganzallo had also directed that other accomplices who escaped through motorbikes be brought to book.<\/p>\n

The suspects have since been transferred to the Ijebu Igbo Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution, Yusuf stated.<\/p>\n
