Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has reacted to comments made by Hon. Ladi Adebutu, asking Yorubas not to be selfish in running for the 2023 presidency.<\/p>\n

The students appealed to Yorubas to ignore Adebutu and not give his comment any serious attention.<\/p>\n

Adebutu had at a political gathering in Abeokuta asked Yorubas not to be selfish, recalling that former President Olusegun Obasanjo and late Ernest Shonekan were both Yorubas who ruled the nation.<\/p>\n

Adebutu, who declared his support for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said Yoruba is not the only tribe in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Reacting, the National President of NAOSS, Oluwagbemileke Ogunrombi, in a statement made available to DAILY POST, said \u201cAdebutu made the comment out of his ignorant point of view.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cHow can Adebutu accuse the Yorubas of being greedy for demanding the presidency? How can he say that another Hausa\/Fulani man should succeed President Muhammadu Buhari?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe consider his comment a great insult to the entire Yoruba race. But, we plead with the Yorubas to ignore Adebutu.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, we want to caution him to desist from misleading the people with uncultured, ignorant comments.\u201d<\/p>\n
