Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A political youth organization, under the aegis of ODOHmeters, on Saturday petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari and security chiefs over the continued destruction of the billboards of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Prof. Benard Odoh in Ebonyi State.<\/p>\n

The youth group, in a statement signed by its Director General, Mr. Eze Onyebuchi and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, also asked the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi to caution Ebubeagu Operatives to desist from further alleged destruction of the billboards.<\/p>\n

According to him: \u201cWe don\u2019t intend to engage in violence with our own brothers. We demand that you use your good office to investigate this situation. If really these people carrying out these lawless activities are members of Ebubeagu, they should be warned to desist from such acts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should focus on the job they were called to do by liaising with the Police and other relevant agencies to ensure that there is adequate protection of lives and properties in the State.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eze, however, condemned in totality the perceived high level of hatred and Intolerance for opponents by some members of the ruling party in the State.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet those behind the senseless attack on Odoh\u2019s billboards and his other campaign materials be brought to justice. Everyone supporting Odoh\u2019s candidacy should be allowed to go about their campaigns unhindered\u201d, the group noted.<\/p>\n

He stated further that the creation of Ebubeagu by south Eastern leaders, with the arm of complementing the efforts of the Federal Government Security Agencies in the Region, shouldn\u2019t be abused.<\/p>\n

Eze stressed that political thuggery wasn\u2019t part of the aim of creating Ebubeagu but to fight criminalities in the region, especially in Ebonyi State.<\/p>\n
