Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Pastor Bolaji Akniyemi has decried the hardship some Lagosians faced during the rally led by Musiliu Akinsanya, a.k.a. MC Oluomo.<\/p>\n

The ex-National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chairman now heads Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Oluomo and other supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu marched in the state.<\/p>\n

The rally, attended by a huge crowd, started at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere and ended at Oshodi.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook post generating reactions, Akinyemi lamented how commuters, including congregrants, were trapped in traffic for hours.<\/p>\n

The outspoken religious activist is the convener of the Apostolic Round Table.<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u201cA 5-million-man march on a Sunday morning at 8:00am in support of a Muslim ticket?<\/p>\n

\u201cNow they have said it loud and clear in Lagos to our face, \u201cgo to church and see Muslims marching to take the state in their multitudes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akinyemi, who said some people might avoid discussing the issue, added that \u201cthis is no ordinary time\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo they (Tinubu-APC followers) have the right to walk on a Sunday? Of course they do!<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the point is made, Lagos has more people who have no business with church and wouldn\u2019t mind a walk in exchange for worship on a Sunday!\u201d<\/p>\n

The cleric noted that the trek for Tinubu was like holding a major event in Kano on a Friday.<\/p>\n

There have been calls for politicians and parties to recognize days that are special to religious persons during campaigns for the 2023 elections.<\/p>\n

At the Lagos gathering, Oluomo said the deaths reported at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020 were incorrect.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere are the bodies and where are they buried? Do they have relatives in Nigeria? Has Nigeria bribed the mothers of the deceased protesters?\u201d, he quipped.<\/p>\n

Oluomo added that those making the claim were lying to the public because \u201cthey want to undermine the Yorubas\u201d.<\/p>\n
