National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole has said the party is not in alignment with any African Action Congress, AAC, in Rivers state.<\/p>\n
Speaking last night when he appeared on Channels TV\u2019s interview programme, Hard Copy, with Maupe Yusuf, the APC leader said neither him nor the party\u2019s national working committee was aware of any of such alignment.<\/p>\n
Recall that APC did not field any candidate for the Rivers governorship election after the supreme court upheld the annulment of the party\u2019s primaries and congresses.<\/p>\n
But Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, had said the APC will back Awara Biokpomabo, governorship candidate of AAC during the March 9, elections in the state.<\/p>\n
Amaechi had said, \u201cThis morning, the leadership of the party met and agreed that we would work with a party called African Action Congress (AAC), while we are still in court to reclaim our mandate.\u201d<\/p>\n
Oshiomhole, however, denied such alignment and said it has never been discussed with him.<\/p>\n
The APC chairman said: \u201cI have never spoken at any forum that we have aligned with any party. There is only one party (I oversee) and that is APC, if there is going to be alignment, I will know.<\/p>\n
