Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The first female gubernatorial Candidate in the just concluded election in Ekiti State on the platform of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Erelu Josephine Elebute-Halle, has said she attended the inauguration of an All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, in the spirit of celebrating with those who celebrate as is the divine instruction.<\/p>\n

She emphasised that when people are happy, you celebrate with them and when they are sad, as humans, you are also expected to feel the same with them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel that God has made him emerge as the Governor of Ekiti State, and beyond bitterness, I feel that it is important to give him all the support that he needs\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cElebute maintained that the position of Governor is a service to humanity. It\u2019s a service to the people of Ekiti State. It is not supposed to be taken personal. So, I decided that, okay since he has invited me, I feel that it is an honour and in recognition of what one has done well in society because it\u2019s not everybody also that can be called to attend such an event.\u201d<\/p>\n

Erelu Elebute Josephine Halle remarked that she felt honoured by his invitation as one of the stakeholders in the State, hence, her decision to honour him also by felicitating with him.<\/p>\n

The former governorship candidate noted that the expectations of the people of the state are very high. \u201cThey expect him to perform very well and this question has been asked before, and I said am sure that the Governor would have heard his laid down agenda for the people of the State for the development of Ekiti people. My prayer is that God Almighty would give him the wisdom to be able to execute whatever plan that he has for Ekiti people\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201dEverything the Ekiti people want now is to move forward, they are looking forward to someone who will have the genuine interest of the people at heart, who will feel concerned and feel pained by whatever the people are going through.<\/p>\n

Erelu Elebute-Halle pointed out that she saw a good man in the new governor, who she also described as very humble.<\/p>\n

However, she admonished that people want to see him perform and change the face of Ekiti and give the state a facelift, so that, after his four years, the people will be able to point to his achievements one by one without having to lie about it or anything.<\/p>\n

She advised the new Governor to feel the pulse of the people to know what they really need and knowing what the people really need right now so that one after the other, he will be able to attend to them.<\/p>\n
