Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano of promoting violence.<\/p>\n

The opposition declared that the actions of APC leaders were a clear testimony of the ruling party\u2019s failure.<\/p>\n

NNPP state chairman Umar Doguwa condemned the altercation between Alhassan Doguwa, House of Representatives Majority Leader, and Murtala Garo, deputy governorship candidate.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Thursday, Doguwa said the incident created \u201canother national embarrassment for Kano\u201d and urged security agencies to forestall acts capable of throwing the state into crisis.<\/p>\n

He alleged Garo and Alhassan \u201care well-known for supporting and abetting political thuggery\u201d, warning that their disagreement could lead to deaths and destruction of properties.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlhassan is on rampage, and from experience, Murtala Garo must revenge, so the political atmosphere is already overheated.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the inception of the internal crisis, supporters of the warring camps have gone on rampage, destroying each other\u2019s billboards and removing posters that do not belong to their bosses.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf this behaviour is not promptly controlled, it may result in a big time political violence capable of causing deaths and loss of properties\u201d, Doguwa said.<\/p>\n

The NNPP chairman advised the people against supporting a \u201cbunch of reckless politicians\u201d incapable of putting their house in order.<\/p>\n

An APC meeting on Monday turned bloody when Rep Doguwa attacked Garo at the home of the deputy governor, Nasir Gawuna.<\/p>\n

The meeting was convened to review the successes and failures recorded during the visit of the party\u2019s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

Daily Nigerian reported how Doguwa, who was not invited to the meeting, stormed the venue to see the state chairman, Abdullahi Abbas.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker complained he was sidelined on matters pertaining to funds, but only invited to execute difficult party assignments.<\/p>\n

After a stream of invective on Gawuna, Doguwa accused Garo of ordering his boys to cover his picture on the party\u2019s banners during Tinubu\u2019s visit.<\/p>\n

Garo attempted to call him to order and recalled how the legislator abused his parents the previous night during a meeting in Doguwa\u2019s residence.<\/p>\n

The member representing Doguwa\/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency then grabbed the deputy governor\u2019s tea cup and allegedly threw it at Garo, leaving a gash on his hand.<\/p>\n

Before that day, Doguwa allegedly verbally assaulted Information Commissioner, Mohammed Garba, for not including his name as a speaker during Governor Ganduje\u2019s book launch in Abuja.<\/p>\n

Earlier, during Tinubu\u2019s visit to Kano, Doguwa allegedly threw a folded babbar riga at APC Rep caucus chairman, Ali Wudil, over an issue.<\/p>\n
