Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Monday in Lagos State, said that he would rather die than fail his supporters.<\/p>\n

Obi also disclosed that the right leadership would end most of Nigeria\u2019s challenges by turning the nation from consumption to production.<\/p>\n

The former Anambra State governor spoke at the Editors Forum, an initiative of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).<\/p>\n

He said that the country was going through many challenges mainly because it was consuming instead of being a producing nation.<\/p>\n

According to him, if Nigeria is productive, three-quarters of its challenges can be solved.<\/p>\n

He mentioned the challenges to include unemployment, poverty, criminality and insecurity.<\/p>\n

Obi said, \u201cWe cannot have that number of people living in poverty and not have criminality, banditry and so on.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must remove the sharing formula and replace it with the production formula.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hope of this country is the vast uncultivated land, not that oil we are seeing.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy commitment is to put Nigeria into production.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his supporters, Obi promised not to disappoint them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am determined not to fail them. I would rather die than fail them. I am going to serve them,\u201d Obi said.<\/p>\n
