Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has said the North cannot dictate who becomes Nigeria\u2019s president.<\/p>\n

Adebanjo disclosed this in Lagos on Monday.<\/p>\n

He also faulted calls that the Southeast must negotiate to produce Nigeria\u2019s president.<\/p>\n

The Afenifere leader said it\u2019s the right of the Southeast to produce Nigeria\u2019s president without having to beg any region.<\/p>\n

Adebanjo further rubbished insinuations that the North has the population to decide Nigeria\u2019s president.<\/p>\n

According to Adebanjo: \u201cWhat right has the North to dictate who will become our president?<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was said that the South-East must come to negotiate with the North because politics is a game of numbers.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy case is \u2013 and I told people yesterday \u2013 the case for the East is not to beg for a favour; it is their right.<\/p>\n

\u201cYet, each time I hear that they should go around because the North has the population, what fraudulent population? You can\u2019t sell that to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
