Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Black Stars defender, Daniel Quaye, has insisted that Ghana cannot beat Portugal when both sides clash in Thursday\u2019s World Cup tie in Qatar.<\/p>\n

Quaye said that Portugal have depth in their squad, adding that Pepe is playing.<\/p>\n

Portugal will clash with Ghana on Thursday in their World Cup opener.<\/p>\n

However, Quaye, a member of Ghana\u2019s first World Cup squad in Germany 2006, said as quoted by Ghanasoccernet: \u201cIt will be difficult for Ghana to beat Portugal, even at the time we had matured and experienced players we couldn\u2019t beat them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I were to be a betting company, I would have given Ghana (1,000 odds) and Portugal (500) because we cannot beat them.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at the squad depth of Portugal, I know football is full of uncertainties, but this time I believe the best team will win. Pepe is playing, but in Ghana, we consider Jonathan Mensah and others as old players.\u201d<\/p>\n
