Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State says he has no apologies for thanking President Muhammadu Buhari over the release of oil derivation fund to the Niger Delta States.<\/p>\n

Wike spoke at the conferment of awards on 162 Nigerians for their achievements, influential lives and services to the advancement of Rivers State and the nation.<\/p>\n

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Kelvin Ebiri, Governor Wike\u2019s Personal Assistant on Media.<\/p>\n

The statement was made available to journalists on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause I said \u2018Buhari, thank you,\u2019 I am having problems today. That is the country we are in. I am not a fan of Buhari.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen a man has done well, say he has done well in this area. If he has not done well, you say so. I have no apologies for anyone. If Buhari had not released the money from 1999, which my party did not even release, I wouldn\u2019t have been doing what I am doing,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n

Wike also advised governors of Kogi and Ebonyi States not to waste their resources supporting any other gubernatorial candidate in the State because his party- the PDP will win all elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.<\/p>\n
