Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has said Nigerians have been thrown into hardships by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC-led government.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom my trip round the country, I discovered that Nigerians are tired of the ruling APC government because they are overwhelmed with hardships,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the inauguration of the 800-man presidential and governorship campaign council of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Kwara State on Thursday in Ilorin, the party\u2019s national leader said it is time for Nigerians to vote the PDP to power to rescue the country from the current mess.<\/p>\n

\u201cTime to go back to the PDP is now at both the State and the national levels, by voting for Yaman Abdullah, the State gubernatorial candidate and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Party\u2019s Presidential candidate,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Saraki, defended the PDP\u2019s 16 year-reign in the State, saying the APC government had failed to commission a single project for the past three and a half years.<\/p>\n

He charged the campaign council to commence vigorous work and ensure victory for the party in the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo time to sleep anymore, go to the field, door-to-door, house to house, ward to ward to campaign for the party to win the 2023 elections,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Saraki also charged the youths to join the party in the effort to change the negative narrative about the state of affairs in Kwara State.<\/p>\n

He commenced those who stood by the party despite the defeat inflicted by the APC in the 2019 elections in the State.<\/p>\n

The State Party Chairman, Mallam Babatunde Mohammed described the 2019 defeat of the party in the State as a temporary setback, expressing confidence that it would bounce back to retake the State in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cBattle ahead is a task that must be handled with all seriousness, we have learnt our lessons and problems, we are doing everything possible not to repeat the same mistakes again,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
