Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the elimination of more than 100 terrorists, including some of their leaders, in Borno.<\/p>\n

Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet informed the public of recent airstrikes in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The interdiction mission was conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) at Mantari village in the Gezuwa area of the Bama Local Government.<\/p>\n

The spokesman announced terrorist kingpins Khalid Tukur, Maimusari, and Bakura Jega were obliterated.<\/p>\n

The raid followed intelligence on a Boko Haram commander Ikirima after he moved to Mantari village with his gun trucks.<\/p>\n

Gabkwet said after the first wave of strikes, some surviving terrorists found their way back to the same location to evacuate the bodies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis provided an opportunity for a follow-up strike which has been confirmed very successful as over 100 terrorists were neutralised with dozens said to be in critical condition.\u201c<\/p>\n

Gabkwet disclosed that ISWAP and Boko Haram elements had perfected plans to resume active hostilities during the yuletide and the 2023 elections.<\/p>\n

The director said the intelligence on the attempt to attack soft targets in Bama helped in the successful bombardment, \u201cwhich has reduced their will to regroup and attack citizens\u201d.<\/p>\n
