Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Police Command in Oyo State has arrested nine suspects over the murder of Hakeem Mudashiru, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) grassroots mobiliser in Oyo Town.<\/p>\n

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the arrest to NAN on Thursday in Ibadan.<\/p>\n

Mudashiru was hacked to death in his father\u2019s house on Wednesday by suspected rival political thugs.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson disclosed that those in custody include a female.<\/p>\n

The PPRO confirmed the case is being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).<\/p>\n

Preliminary investigation showed the deceased was attacked by hoodlums after a heated argument.<\/p>\n

The death of Hakeem, 40, was reported by his father, Jimoh Agala, at Durbar Divisional Police Headquarters on Wednesday at about 1.35 p.m.<\/p>\n

Osifeso said police operatives had been deployed to the area to prevent further breakdown of law and order.<\/p>\n

The command promised to provide updates on the case.<\/p>\n
