Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State today called on the State Government to genuinely make peace between them and their Ogbe-Ijoh neighbours as they mourn their fallen heroes who lost their lives in the agelong crisis which started in 1996 till date.<\/p>\n

President of Aladja Community Council, ACC, Shell GodFirst Okakotu made the call in honour of their departed heroes.<\/p>\n

Okakotu called on the Delta State Government to act very fast and bring lasting peace to the two warring communities.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the celebration of their fallen heroes was to encourage the Aladja youths as well as assure them that the Community is strongly behind them.<\/p>\n

The Warefare Chairman of Aladja Community, Mr. Benson Doro in a chat with Our Correspondent urged the Delta State Government to settle the land dispute between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh Communities and allow peace to reign as well as put an end to the killings of their Indigenes.<\/p>\n

Mr. Doro noted that crisis does not bring anything good to the two warring communities.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Doro, \u201cThey should try as much as possible to bring peace between the two communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the community comprising of youths and children embarked on the celebration of their Indigenes who died since the crisis with Ogbe-Ijoh Community in 1996 till date.<\/p>\n

While pointing out that the crisis is still lingering, Mr. Doro said the celebration is a yearly one. \u201cEvery on 30th of December, that\u2019s when we celebrate our fallen heroes day.\u201d<\/p>\n

An indigene of Aladja Community, Mr. Jerry Ruerihor who also spoke with Our Correspondent corroborated the positions of the Warefare Chairman as he called on the Delta State Government to make peace between the two communities and save the lives of their Indigenes from danger.<\/p>\n

Our Correspondent who was there, reports that Commercial activities were today shutdown as Aladja Community as indigenes were not allowed to go out of the town in honour of the fallen heroes. With that, Commercial motorcycles and tricycles were not allowed to work.<\/p>\n

Commercial speed boats were also not allowed to ply the waterways in the Community. Commercial shops were completely closed.<\/p>\n

The Indigenes who were clad in back attires began the activities with a rally from the Aladja Community Town hall, matched to the Aladja Community Waterside and from there to major streets\/quarters in the town as they chanted solidarity songs.<\/p>\n

They ended up the rally at the Aladja Arcade situated at Evwrirhe Primary School in Aladja Community.<\/p>\n
