Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Mixed reactions have continued to trail the public announcement of a joint tour between popular hip pop star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid and his counterpart, David Adeleke, a.k.a Davido.<\/p>\n

This is coming after years of a supremacy battle between the duo.<\/p>\n

The announcement took the \u201c30 Billion Gang\u201d and the \u201cWizkid FC\u201d by surprise, as many were excited to see the duo perform together for the first time on stage in years.<\/p>\n

The duo, alongside Burna Boy, are considered to be the biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times.<\/p>\n

Following their perceived rivalry, their fans have always been divided over who is more superior, with the two musicians yet to release a song together.<\/p>\n

Recall that Wizkid had in 2017 brought Davido out as a special guest at his December concert. After which, the singers have also thrown heavy digs at each other on different occasions.<\/p>\n

In July 2022, Wizkid appeared to have offered an olive branch to Burna Boy and Davido after he downplayed the rivalry between them at the 2022 Afronation music festival in Portugal and said, \u201cI want to tell you tonight, Starboy, I got love for Burna Boy, I got love for Davido, and I want to thank all our fans for supporting us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dropping the big news on his Instagram stories on Wednesday, 32-year-old Wizkid said, \u201cAfter my MLLE tour, David and I are going on tour. Save your coins. I don\u2019t want to hear pim.\u201d<\/p>\n

Confirming the development on Instagram, Davido, who spotted the announcement on Tunde Ednuts\u2019 page, clicked the \u2018like\u2019 button.<\/p>\n

As expected, this generated a lot of mixed reactions on social media, especially among Davido\u2019s fans, who are called 30BG, and Wizkid\u2019s fans, known as Wizkid FC.<\/p>\n

A Twitter user, Sally Suleiman, wrote, \u201cWizkid and Davido going on a tour is all you need to know that 2023 is a great year for us. 30BG versus Wizkid FC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another fan on Twitter posted, \u201cWizkid and Davido on tour? What will toxic fans do with their anger? I always knew that these two were secret friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lordoye1: \u201cDavido and WizKid love story is like two lovers that will always find their way back with each other no matter how people and circumstances try to tear them apart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yea_I_am_Him: \u201cBut honestly, this will be like a reborn of AfroBeat. It\u2019ll change Nigerian music and kill off toxicity and unnecessary competition. This is Growth, and we deserve to witness it. Thanks, Davido, for accepting to corporate in growing a dying career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also speaking, Daniel Regha said, \u201cWizkid going on tour with Davido makes absolutely no sense.
