Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The wife of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mrs Titi Abubakar, has told Nigerians to hold her responsible if her husband, Atiku Abubakar, fails to deliver on his campaign promises.<\/p>\n

Titi also said her husband would end poverty and insecurity if elected as the next Nigerian president come February 25, 2023.<\/p>\n

Atiku\u2019s wife stated this at a town hall meeting with Ogun State women in Abeokuta, the state capital.<\/p>\n

According to her, good governance is not new to her husband, hence his resolve to take up the position of Nigeria\u2019s next president.<\/p>\n

Abubakar who noted, \u201cmy husband was instrumental to the successes recorded during former President Olusegun Obasanjo\u2019s eight years tenure,\u201d assured that he would do more this time.<\/p>\n

While describing her husband as a unifier capable of fixing the various challenges facing the nation like insecurity, unemployment, poverty and others, Mrs Abubakar stressed that her husband has enough experience to deliver the country.<\/p>\n

She assured the PDP candidate would restructure Nigeria and restore its lost glory.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you vote Atiku, you vote out poverty; if you vote Atiku, you vote out insecurity. Atiku has done it before. If you vote Atiku, you vote security, you vote good economy, you vote restructuring,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

According to her: \u201cAtiku will unify Nigeria, after all, I\u2019m a Yoruba woman married to a Fulani man for over 50 years, that is the Nigeria that I want for us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

She noted that if her husband is voted in, she will become the first Yoruba First Lady, urging the Southwest to give maximum support to her husband.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo Yoruba woman has ever become a first lady in this country so I plead with you that for Yoruba to be happy, please vote for my husband and everything I and my husband have promised, we are going to fulfil it. If we don\u2019t do it, you can hold me responsible,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Pledging that \u201ceverything that women in Ogun State and even the entire women in the South West need, I will do because I\u2019m one of you\u201d she reminded them that she is from Osun State and \u201cI will not disappoint you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Said she: \u201cDon\u2019t let the APC deceive you, remember that your vote for Atiku is a vote for Yoruba and the South West.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also Speaking, the PDP National Woman Leader, Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, noted that the PDP government had always ensured a better life for her citizens.<\/p>\n

She urged the women not to keep their PVCs inside the wardrobe after collection, but to ensure they go out en masse and vote for all PDP candidates.<\/p>\n

The Wife of the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Adenike Adebutu, commended Mrs Abubakar for always fighting for the cause of Nigerian women and children.<\/p>\n

Adebutu urged the women to collect their PVCs before the deadline for collection and not allow themselves to be disenfranchised.<\/p>\n
