Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The nationwide fuel crisis has taken its toll on students and staff of the University of Ilorin as they are confronted with transportation challenges to and from the main campus.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the development in a statement on Wednesday by Kunle Akogun, the Director, Corporate Affairs, of the institution, the management expressed pain over the transportation hardship the students and staff go through daily.<\/p>\n

The statement appealed to all for continuous understanding, explaining that the factors responsible for the present situation are not peculiar to the University of Ilorin.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis issue of inadequate transportation leaves many stranded every morning and evening during peak hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven the injection of more buses to the campus route has not achieved any tangible result as the nationwide fuel scarcity has compounded the situation, thereby rubbishing such intervention,\u201d the statement explained.<\/p>\n

As part of measures to mitigate the effect of the unfortunate situation on the students especially, \u201cthe management has instructed the adjustment of lecture timetable to make it more flexible.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso, we have renewed our zoom licenses to activate the virtual lecture option recently approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
