Chukwuemeka, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in 2022, spoke exclusively to Chelsea\u2019s official website on his most preferred position despite being able to play in different formations for the Blues this season.<\/p>\n

The England youth team star of Nigerian descent said he is most comfortable as a left 8.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m probably most comfortable as a left 8 in a three,\u201d Chukwuemeka told Chelsea website.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut further forward, I can drift off the line or stay out wide. It gives me that freedom to drive with the ball and receive it in pockets.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrowing up in the academy at Villa, I did play in multiple positions in the midfield and the forward line. I was used to it, and used to learning different roles playing for England as well at youth level.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI have had to adapt throughout my career so far. It is always good to be versatile. You never know when you will be needed in different positions.\u201d<\/p>\n
