Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Gboyega Oyetola, ex-governor of Osun State, has described Friday\u2019s verdict of the election petition tribunal, which validated his win in the July 16, 2022, governorship election, as a collective victory for the country\u2019s democracy.<\/p>\n

Oyetola, who said this while speaking with newsmen in his country home, Iragbiji, said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the greatest beneficiary of the judgement, adding that there was no victor.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThere is no victor, no vanquished. It\u2019s a collective victory for our State and our nation\u2019s democracy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy that the judgment resolved the controversy of the July 16 2022, governorship election.<\/p>\n

\u201cINEC is the greatest beneficiary of the judgment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oyetola also thanked the people of Osun State and his supporters for their loyalty and for standing by him and the APC.<\/p>\n
