Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Zamfara State Sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has said it will screen vehicles and drivers for election duties in the state.<\/p>\n

The corps said that the safety and timely delivery of election materials is important for free, fair and credible elections in the state.<\/p>\n

This was disclosed on Monday by the State Sector Commander, Mr. Iro Danladi, in Gusau, the state capital.<\/p>\n

According to him, there is need for safety and timely delivery of election materials for the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sector will endeavour and ensure that no vehicle with any technical problem will be engaged in the carriage of either election materials or personnel\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd all the drivers carrying election materials will also be tested to prove their capability.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the sector will deploy more operatives across the highways to ensure that no unnecessary traffic jam that could result to crashes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sector commander further explained that the corps would provide ambulance services across the state for quick response to any emergency during the general election.<\/p>\n

According to him, the operatives of the corps had participated in election security training to expose them to appropriate responses during the polls, in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n
