Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has insisted Nigerians should be allowed to elect their president.<\/p>\n

The statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.<\/p>\n

His reaction followed President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s address to Nigerians concerning the Naira redesign policy.<\/p>\n

Buhari ordered that the N200 denomination be restored into circulation.<\/p>\n

The president also said the Naira redesign policy would help curb vote buying in the forthcoming election.<\/p>\n

Sani, agreeing with Buhari, said political power should neither be bought nor sold.<\/p>\n

He tweeted, \u201cThe next Nigerian President should emerge through a voting process and not a bidding process. Political power should neither be bought nor sold.<\/p>\n

\u201cSharing money to electorates for votes is not democracy; this is the time to put an end to it.\u201d<\/p>\n
