Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dele Momodu, has explained why the flag bearer of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, won in Lagos State in the just concluded February 25 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Momodu said Obi won because of the \u201cpreponderance of the Igbo people in Lagos\u201d.<\/p>\n

He disclosed this on Thursday while appearing on Channels Television\u2019s Sunrise Daily breakfast show.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat transpired last Saturday, the major factor was ethnic: the Labour Party was able to take over the APC behemoth because of the preponderance of the Igbo people in Lagos. They are everywhere,\u201d Momodu said.<\/p>\n

Momodu added that Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, held their respective geopolitical bases, unlike Bola Tinubu who couldn\u2019t hold on to his base in Lagos.<\/p>\n
