Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi has said the victory of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu is not the will of God.<\/p>\n

Obi said God\u2019s wish was for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct a credible, free and fair election.<\/p>\n

Featuring on Arise Television\u2019s Morning Show on Monday.<\/p>\n

Asked if he would accept Tinubu\u2019s victory as the wish of God as some religious leaders claimed, Obi said: \u201cWhat they are actually preaching is the problem of Nigeria. The problem of Nigeria is accepting wrongdoing and what is unacceptable.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is using God\u2019s name in vain. That is not what God is saying. God said do not use my name in vain.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, what they are saying is not God\u2019s wish, it is not God\u2019s plan for Nigeria.<\/p>\n

\u201cPastors are preaching the problem of Nigeria; it\u2019s not God\u2019s wish for Nigeria. Is it God\u2019s wish that we don\u2019t have electricity, a mortality rate?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have clear laws about the conduct of the election, it\u2019s not God\u2019s wish that we do the wrong thing. We want God\u2019s wish to be truly God\u2019s wish.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs it God\u2019s wish that we steal or conduct the wrong election?\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the conclusion of Saturday\u2019s presidential election, Nigeria\u2019s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, had described Tinubu\u2019s victory as the will of God.<\/p>\n

\u201cRegardless of our interests and diversity, we should all accept it as the will of Almighty God; we wouldn\u2019t have done it without his grace,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
