Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Gombe United head coach, Aliyu Zubairu has blamed the mid-season break for his team\u2019s defeat to Plateau United.<\/p>\n

The Savannah Scorpions lost 2-0 to their hosts at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Chimezie Izuchukwu and Nenrot Silas were on target for Plateau United in the game.<\/p>\n

Zubairu also rued his side\u2019s failure to convert their chances.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mid-season\/election break has impacted on our performance and my players failed to utilise pocket of goal chances we created,\u201d Zubairu told a press conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not sharp at the moment but I believe we will get better as the season progresses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gombe United will host Kwara United in their next NPFL game on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
