Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, Mr Osita Okechukwu has brushed aside his purported expulsion by the State chapter of the party.<\/p>\n

During a press briefing on Thursday, the Enugu APC through its state secretary, Mr Robert Ngwu announced the expulsion of Okechukwu, alongside former governor, Sullivan Chime, former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, foreign affairs minister, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, among others.<\/p>\n

They were accused of anti-party activities.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the party in the state, Ugochukwu Agballah, who was at the briefing, said the party would continue to purge itself of such members.<\/p>\n

Reacting, Okechukwu said Agballah was shifting blames after destroying the party.<\/p>\n

Okechukwu, the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, said in a statement made available that, \u201cThe story of my kinsman Ugo Agballah is the story of a failed chairman quarreling with himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came from PDP akin to a political bandit and hijacked our great party with the assistance of HE. Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo fill his empty pocket he drove all the stakeholders away and boasted he will quadruple the 56,000 we scored in 2019 presidential election. Regrettably he scored abysmally only 4,722.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of apologizing, I cited his CV flying around at the president-elect\u2019s house and APC HQ. This why he is telling childish lie against some of us foundation members of APC, who sold the only plot of land in Enugu during my gubernatorial election in 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cIronically then, Agballah was in the comfort zone of PDP, while we are constructing APC structure.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is ignorant of APC\u2019s constitution that gave only the ward the right to suspend or sack members.\u201d<\/p>\n
