Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has tasked religious and community leaders to always preach peaceful coexistence in the country.<\/p>\n

Buni gave the charge in a goodwill message to the Christian faithful to mark the Easter occasion.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by his media aide, Mamman Mohammed, the Governor said Nigerians can only practice their religions and achieve prosperity when there is peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome few years back, we could not go to Mosques and Churches in Yobe state due to security challenge, but today we glorify God for the peace we now enjoy across the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should therefore guard it jealously and avoid anything that could tamper with Peace and security in Yobe state and Nigeria\u201d, he admonished.<\/p>\n

Buni also said it is imperative for the faithful to internalize the values of love and sacrifice as reflected in the teachings of Easter at this period of our national life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe good lessons of love and sacrifice should be used to promote peace and unity for the prosperity of the country and Nigerians\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

The Governor noted that this is a blessed period when the Christian faithful observe Easter at a time when their Muslim brothers are observing the Ramadan fast, urging all Nigerians to take advantage of this period to pray for the country.<\/p>\n
