Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Kurutsi Tuktur has been appointed to take over the Caretaker Committee Chairmanship of the Ussa local government council of Taraba state.<\/p>\n

His appointment was announced on Monday in Jalingo, the state capital by the outgoing governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku.<\/p>\n

The change of baton follows the resignation of the former chairman of the council, Abershi Musa.<\/p>\n

Musa, who last week resigned his appointment, attributed it to the alleged inability of the state governor to end the ongoing killings and destruction of property in the council.<\/p>\n

The council has reportedly been a shadow of itself following the activities of suspected herdsmen, which has not only led to the destruction of lives and property but also, massive displacement of people.<\/p>\n

Announcing Tuktur\u2019s appointment, Governor Ishaku urged the new CTC chairman to work tirelessly round the clock for the growth of the council.<\/p>\n

He also assured the new council chairman of his administration\u2019s readiness to extend the much-desired olive branch to the Ussa council and the entire councils of the state.<\/p>\n

Tuktur in reaction to the new position promised to work round the clock to restore normalcy to the communities that make up Ussa council.<\/p>\n

He also assured the governor of his willingness to collaborate with the entire security operatives in the council to bring the perpetrators of the recent attacks to book.<\/p>\n
