Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has told the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC to dismiss a suit filed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party because the reliefs sought are not grantable.<\/p>\n

Nigeria\u2019s electoral body, INEC, disclosed this on Monday at the PEPC\u2019s Secretariat by its lawyer, Abubakar Mahmoud, SAN, in Abuja.<\/p>\n

The Commission asked the Court to either \u201cdismiss or strike out the suit for being nebulous, generic, grossly incompetent, abusive, vague, general, non-specific, ambiguous, equivocal, hypothetical and academic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peter Obi, the 1st petitioner, and LP, the 2nd petitioner, had sued INEC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 1st to 4th respondents, respectively.<\/p>\n

The petitioners are seeking the nullification of the election victory of Tinubu and Shettima in the Feb 25 presidential poll.<\/p>\n

Atiku Abubakar and PDP also challenged the poll\u2019s outcome in a separate petition.<\/p>\n

But INEC disagreed with the petitioners, insisting they were not represented in many or some of the polling units in the country.<\/p>\n
