Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, executive committee in the Namnai Ward of Gassol local government council of Taraba State, has suspended the council Caretaker chairman, Asali MB Biro.<\/p>\n

News of his suspension was contained in a letter signed by the party\u2019s ward Secretary, Ismaila Usman.<\/p>\n

He accused the council boss of alleged anti-party activities.<\/p>\n

Copies of the suspension letter, which was on Wednesday made available to media men in Jalingo, the State capital, directed the embattled chairman to, as a matter of urgency, hand over the party\u2019s property under his care to the Namnai ward party chairman.<\/p>\n

His suspension, according to the letter \u201cis as a result of your anti-party activities during the just concluded general elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

The party alleged that the chairman in question was seen \u201copenly campaigning against our great party in all the categories of the elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also alleging that the Caretaker chairman physically attacked one of the party\u2019s agents, his act, according to them, \u201ccaused our party to lose in your polling unit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Citing some sections of the party\u2019s constitution, among which include Section 58 (1)(f) and 59(1)(d), his actions, the party said \u201ccontravened the aforementioned sections of the party\u2019s constitution, hence \u201cyour suspension from our great party.\u201d<\/p>\n

When reached for confirmation, the leadership of the party in the state admitted knowledge of the suspension, but reiterated its determination to wade in.<\/p>\n

Though the embattled council boss could not be reached at the time of filing this report, one of his close associates, denied the allegations levelled against him, stating that \u201cthe suspension will not hold water.\u201d<\/p>\n
