Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, were among the dignitaries who converged on Obosi yesterday to bid farewell to the late Mrs Victoria Nneka Chidoka, mother of the former Minister of Aviation and former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Osita Chidoka.<\/p>\n

The dignitaries eulogised the deceased, saying that her forthright lifestyle can be seen in the lives of her children and their attainments in life.<\/p>\n

She died on April 3 in her Obosi home at the age of 75 after a protracted battle with cancer and was laid to rest on Friday in Obosi, Idemili Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

In his homily, the Most Revd Henry Ndukuba, Primate of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, said the bereaved family should take solace in the fact that their matriarch lived a good life and had gone to be with her maker.<\/p>\n

Ndukuba, represented by Most Revd Dr Ali Lamido, Dean, Church of Nigeria, who conducted the funeral service at St. Andrew\u2019s Church, Obosi, said death is an inevitable end as humans will not live forever.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny life that was not lived with service to God, Church and humanity is a wasted life. Mama served God, served the church, this is the kind of death people should strive to die: dying in the Lord Jesus Christ,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Consoling the family, Governor Soludo said: \u201cWe celebrate life today because, according to the testimonies we\u2019ve heard, Mama Victoria lived a victorious and impactful life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe honour Chief Osita and all of the children Mama Victoria left behind. They are a metaphor for what we should strive to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Addressing the youths of Obosi, the Governor recalled that he has not seen anyone who lived a life of violence and criminality until the age of 75, noting that crime has no place in longevity.<\/p>\n

\u201cNdi Anambra should be inspired by the Chidokas and their principled way of life,\u201d he further stated.<\/p>\n
