Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The aggrieved aspirants for the Speaker of the House of Representatives are moving to produce a consensus candidate to tackle Tajudeen Abbas.<\/p>\n

Muktar Betara, one of the aspirants for the speakership, stated this on Friday during the official declaration of Idris Wase.<\/p>\n

The aggrieved lawmakers- Betara, Wase, Aminu Jaji, Alhassan Doguwa and Sada Soli formed a coalition to battle Tajudeen Abbas, the candidate endorsed by the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

In his remarks at the coalition, Betara said the lawmakers will not fight, but rather work together to produce a consensus candidate.<\/p>\n

He said the members of the coalition will decide the next speaker.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can pick the candidate from among ourselves but if we will all sit down and decide on it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assure all of you it is only one person that God would choose to be Speaker. I assure you we are not going to have any issues. We are going to agree to support one of us as the Speaker,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
