Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Tolu Ogunlesi, a former media aide to the ex-president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has explained why a new government\u2019s first appointments are usually the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).<\/p>\n

In a tweet posted during the inauguration of Buhari\u2019s successor, Bola Tinubu, Ogunlesi explained that the SSG and SGF are responsible for the appointment letters of other political appointees.<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u201cSSG\/SGF always one of the first appointments any new government makes because appointment letters of political appointees are typically issued\/signed by that Office\/Office-holder.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I\u2019ve never bothered to find out is who issues\/signs SSG\/SGF appointment letter?<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve also just learnt that the HOS can and usually does issue the first set of appointment letters, including the SSG\/SGF.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tinubu has already made the first appointments of his government.<\/p>\n
