Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>As Nigerians are feeling the bite of the petroleum subsidy \u201cremoval\u201d by President Bola Tinubu, the House of Representatives has asked Nigerians to pray for the implementation of the policy.<\/p>\n

The House, in a sequel to a motion of urgent public importance, moved on Tuesday by Abdulraheem Olajide, praised President Tinubu for making the pronouncement on Monday.<\/p>\n

It would be recalled that Tinubu had, during his inauguration, pronounced subsidy gone. The statement caused a scarcity of petroleum products.<\/p>\n

Mr Olajide said the House must support Tinubu in the subsidy removal because he campaigned to do so.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe legislature must support the President in delivering dividends of democracy, which will go a long way in enhancing development because he asked for it and campaigned for it. And he is ready for the task ahead,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Consequently, the House resolved to appeal to Nigerians to remain patient, resilient, and prayerful so that the President can deliver on his promises.<\/p>\n

Femi Gbajabiamila also prevented members from debating the motion, despite their requests to speak.<\/p>\n
